Energy & Environment Commission plans free environmental forum
The Edina Energy & Environment Commission will host a free environmental
forum for the community in April.
“Edina Dialogue: The Environment,
Economy and Food Supply from Global to Local” will be held 6 to 9 p.m. April
19 at Edina High School, 6754 Valley View Road, in Fick Auditorium. (Enter
through Door 7 or Door 3 for the Performing Arts Center and follow the signs
to Fick Auditorium.) A
speaker and panel discussion involving community leaders and residents, as
well as a Resource Fair, will be part of the event.
Dr. Jonathan
Foley, a nationally recognized speaker who is the Director of the University
of Minnesota Institute on the Environment, will give the keynote
presentation.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour.
Foley will speak at 7 p.m., followed by the panel discussion. The Resource
Fair will begin at 6 p.m. and continue through the duration of the event.
The event qualifies for CEU credit.
The Commission is planning the event
in collaboration with various community groups, including the Edina
Community Foundation, Connecting With Kids and Edina Public Schools. The
participation of residents, local businesses, faith groups, profit and
non-profit organizations as sponsors, volunteers and Resource Fair
participants is sought.
