Judy Lieber
Judy
holds a degree from National College of Education in Wilmette, Ill. She
has also completed some graduate work at the University of Minnesota.
For nearly all her life, Judy has been painting and drawing. Since her
move from Chicago to the Twin Cities in 1971, she has been studying and
teaching painting.
Judy is one of the original Edina Art Center instructors. Her focus has
been teaching oils, pastels, drawing and caricatures. Painting with a
loose representational interpretation, her colors often are enhanced by
her imagination.
“There is such joy to be had by painting. I am intrigued by the shapes
people make, quietly as solitary figures, or with dynamic energy as they
form into groups. I strive to capture the truth of my subject, and to
get it down, without suffering too much trauma.”
Judy currently teaches a caricature class at Edina Art Center.
