Presented by two instructors, Karen Knutson and Pat Undis, this unique workshop experience is for the intermediate to advanced painter who desires to be challenged. Pat and Karen each demo (water media) their own personal approach to that day’s challenge and encourage the students to choose their own path, emphasizing good design and aiding in the development of a personal voice. Spontaneous Watercolor with Mixed Media

Award-winning artist Darlene Brooks has a gift for helping students learn fabulous techniques without pressure. This class is developed for all levels. Unique techniques will be taught that will add impact and depth to your finished watercolor paintings. We will work on design approaches to solving aesthetic problems in image making using watercolors, acrylics, gesso, crayons, markers, and decorative papers. You will be infusing your art with excitement as you emphasize color, texture, movement, shape and major design principles. You can expect to have fun in this non-threatening atmosphere while learning to let go of anything that blocks your creativity. Watercolor Portrait Painting

We will draw and paint portraits from photographs. Live models may be used in later weeks if class members indicate interest.
